The Photoimpressions Collection is the creative collaboration between my husband, Mitchell Shenker and me. Inspired by classical Impressionism, a love for color and the magnificent way light creates form, we blend the effects of color, light and texture into a distinctive, hand painted, watercolor-like style.
Each image began as an SX-70 Polaroid image. By carefully “resculpting” the developing emulsion with fine hand tools, we transformed the image into one that blends the boundaries between photography and oil painting. The result are rich, impressionistic images, reminiscent of sculpted paint on canvas.
